Chemical UV filters have traditionally been more lightweight and blendable, making them the go-to for daily use under makeup. In contrast, mineral UV filters are usually more gentle and less likely to cause skin irritation. They work immediately upon application and do not need to be absorbed by the skin, making them ideal for people with sensitive skin. We have created a formula that offers the best of mineral filters while presenting a smooth, creamy, not-sticky consistency that isn't "goop-y."

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. It is a measure of how well a sunscreen will protect your skin from UVB rays. SPF 30 does NOT imply that your skin is protected for 30 mins. Instead, SPF 30 means that it admits 1/30th (or 0.033333333 or ~3%) of ambient UVB radiation. Therefore, if it admits 3% of radiation, ideally, SPF 30 gives you 97% protection. The amount of time depends on your skin's sensitivity. A general rule is to apply sunscreen every 2 hours.

While a higher SPF may offer slightly more protection, it doesn't necessarily mean it's better. The difference between an SPF 30 and SPF 50 is only about 1% in terms of UVB protection. It's more important to choose a sunscreen that is broad-spectrum, meaning it protects against both UVA and UVB rays, and to reapply it every two hours.
